From September 3 to 6, 2026, Decollte Photography participated in Bridestory Market 2026, one of Indonesia's major wedding events, held at ICE BSD near Jakarta.

This was our fourth time exhibiting at Bridestory Market. Over the years, we have become familiar with the atmosphere of the event and, more importantly, with the young, sophisticated couples who visit the exhibition in search of ideas and inspiration for their wedding.

This year, however, we introduced something new.

A Little Tokyo in the Heart of Bridestory Market

More than 300 companies participated in this year's event, including nearly 30 photography and videography companies.

Among them, Decollte Photography was the only wedding photography company participating from Japan.

For this year's exhibition, we were also pleased to collaborate with I-PRIMO, a leading Japanese bridal jewelry brand.

Together, we created a space that felt almost like a little Tokyo within the exhibition hall — bringing together Japanese wedding photography and bridal jewelry in one place.

The unique Japanese atmosphere attracted considerable attention from visitors and gave us an opportunity to introduce a different side of Japan to Indonesian couples.

Nearly 100 Couples Visited Our Booth

Throughout the four-day event, nearly 100 couples visited the Decollte Photography booth, giving us many opportunities to speak directly with couples interested in having their pre-wedding photos taken in Japan.

We were particularly pleased to achieve our highest number of shooting reservations ever at Bridestory Market.

For us, this was more than simply a successful exhibition.

It gave us a strong sense that interest in Japan among Indonesian couples is continuing to grow.

Mt. Fuji: The Most Popular Destination

When we asked Indonesian couples where they would like to have their wedding photos taken in Japan, one destination stood out above all others:

Mt. Fuji.

Many couples were immediately attracted to the idea of capturing their wedding memories with Japan's most iconic mountain in the background.

Tokyo and Kyoto also received strong interest, offering very different styles of photography — from sophisticated urban scenes to traditional Japanese streets and cultural landscapes.

At the same time, we noticed another interesting trend.

Many couples told us that they wanted to have their photos taken in Japan, but they did not yet have a specific location or season in mind.

And that is completely understandable.

Japan offers four distinct seasons and hundreds of beautiful photography locations, each with its own atmosphere and character. For couples visiting Japan for the first time, deciding where and when to take their photos can be difficult.

Japan May Feel Close — But It Is Not Always Easy to Plan

Compared with markets such as Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, the number of people traveling between Indonesia and Japan is still relatively limited.

For Indonesian couples, Japan may feel culturally familiar and emotionally close, while still being somewhat far away in practical terms.

Planning a pre-wedding photoshoot in another country can therefore feel complicated.

Where should we shoot?

Which season is best?

What kind of dress or kimono should we choose?

Which photographer should we book?

How do we arrange hair and makeup, transportation and other details?

These are all questions that can make planning an overseas photoshoot seem more difficult than it really needs to be.
